From Our Turntable to Your Doorstep: The Journey of Your Vinyl Shipment

Thanks for your interest in VinylFarm. If you are reading this it is likely true that you have yet to order from us.

That is fine, we get it, maybe you haven't used Discogs, or don't trust sellers online. We can understand [be sure to check out our How We Grade page]. We believe in transparency and accountability here at the farm. If you feel uncomfortable about ordering from us please do not order.

We may be new as a ‘physical’ shop, but we have been buying/selling/trading LPs online in a variety of marketplaces for the last decade. We don't mention that for hipster points - we are raising the point as street cred 😎.

We adhere to a certain set of rules that make the experience the best for both parties. The less mistakes we make the more confident we are in your purchase being above satisfaction.

WE DO:

1. We use proper new LP mailers, not used pizza boxes, not chipboard mailers that arrive corners bent in your mailbox. We prefer sturdy good ol' fashioned corrugated mailers [made in the U.S. & CAN]. We wholeheartedly prefer and recommend that you reuse them if you can. In terms of vessels we’ve seen the likes of everything and know what doesn’t work for us so we stick to how we should want it to arrive - if we were to order.

2. We ship the old school way. We remove your LP from the outer jacket and place the LP [in inner sleeve] with the jacket into a 2mil poly bag. At this point we are double checking the listed grade. If we have any discrepancies in the original grading - we will contact you with our solution to proceed, generally means lowering price, and we will make the call on the difference in which we offer in store credit. We use padding where needed and place everything tight into the LP mailer. In some cases we provide a new inner sleeve as well. Depending on the condition of the original inner sleeve. [If that inner sleeve provides historical relevance we will include it.] No sliding around and no damage to the LP jacket. Basically, we ship it the way we would want to have it sent to use. Without any B.S.

3. We pad, tape, & seal properly. Your order will not arrive looking like a Homer Simpson tax return. It should be neat [minus any postal damage that is out of our control]. You will be able to immediately tell that care went into the preparation.

When shipping orders we are grateful to do so. We place that gratitude into a zen like trance of folds and taping.

WE WILL:

Get most of our simple orders out within the same day.
As volume increases, we say 1-2 days but we stick to as fast as we can.

We ship standard media mail for most orders. We do this because even though it's a little slower than priority [these days not by much] it's the proper way, each one is handled with more care in the media system, they don't send them through a 2" gap on the sorting belt.

They process and handle the delivery with a tad bit more care. As you know vinyl is an experience of appetite, so a few extra days won't hurt.

WE WON'T:

1. Ship international.

Why don't we ship intl.? Well, we don't believe in sending historical recordings of intellectual property away from our citizens - kidding. It's too expensive and the reality of overseas opened us up to a lot of scammers recently, so we pulled the plug on that outlet. [sorry Finland, sorry U.K., sorry Japan.] We may open up CAN shipping within our first year and slowly open up select regions following, depending on the demand and need. But for right now we are content with U.S. only shipping.

2. Run and hide if something arrives damaged.

Give us an email info[@]VinylFarm[dot]com, as soon as you see the mailer, take a picture of the mailer. If you know you don't plan on keeping it because it appears damaged - don't try and open it. You won't be able to "fool" us [remember? Zen like trance]. But really we need to make sure we have a case for insurance with the USPS. We will make sure you are satisfied with the solution in play, don’t worry.

We want your purchase to be so good that this is the last time you read this page and you see the statements above as truth.

Thank you for your support. Cultivate Love. Grow your collection.
